Will You Dance With Me?
Let your fire soften my steel and allow me to better express the rhythm we both feel. I lose none of the strength of my structure by doing so, but I do gain an aesthetic of form that enhances the function of my frame as I move with you.
Step into me then step away. Glide with me as the drummers play. Slide past me then take my hand. Sashay in place while I do stand. Cling to me then spin away, yet go no further than the length of our extended arms allow. Dance before me and twirl around me. Stretch my mind and the muscles in my arms ‘til they recoil and return you to my embrace.
As we stand together, cheek to cheek and chest to back and arm in arm and thigh to thigh, my strength serves as the foundation upon which you exhibit the grace and finesse that leaves awestruck all who witness your fluid display of emotion in motion.
Be my music. Be my guide. Teach me while I’m at your side. Order my steps. Be my muse. You I accept and not refuse. Bend as you wish, you’ll not break me. I go gladly where you take me. Left. Right. Left. Right. Left. Right. Spin. Turn and lay back. Twist again.
Be my partner.
Lend me your flow.
Balance my strength.
Please,
Don’t say no
Ned
